Daggerfall is kind of cheating though. It uses randomly generated placement of assets that it reuses, so in the end everything starts looking the same no matter where you go. It is no better than most space sims, where the map can be arbitrarily large and it doesn't matter because you are only keeping track of the distance between objects.

This game is indeed very big. It is, by far, the most intense RPG to ever exist if you happen to play it on Hard mode ( I.E putting all of the settings to the most difficult. ), and it can also claim to be quite scary at certain times. It is the biggest, and by far, the best RPG that you can get for FREE.

I guess Daggerfall's randomizing, even stats-heavier system was probably a good idea for its time, when immersion and the joy of exploration wasn't as easily achieved, if at all possible, through 3D 1st-person wandering in beautiful, handcrafted worlds. I wouldn't want it back nowadays.
